When To Apply Meso 4 SC

Pre-Emergent Applications for Seeding and New Lawns

For pre-emergent applications during seeding, including overseeding of established turfgrass and bare ground seeding, apply Meso 4 SC at the time of grass seeding or as close to seeding as possible. For best control, apply at seeding or before germination. If you don't apply before germination, wait 4 weeks after grass has germinated to apply. For pre-emergent (seeding) applications, water-in immediately.
Meso 4 SC can be effectively used as a pre-emergent on grass seed blends that contain <20% by weight hard/fine fescue. Application to fine fescue can reduce grass density.

Post-Emergent Applications

For post-emergent applications, avoid spraying on newly germinated turfgrass plants. Wait until the newly germinated turf has been mowed 2 times or 4 weeks after emergence (whichever is longer) before making a post-emergent application. Do not water for at least 24 hours to allow it to dry. For best results, apply with a non-ionic surfactant, such as 80/20 Select™ Surfactant, and apply to young, actively growing weeds. A repeat application at 2-3 weeks may be required for adequate weed control. Efficacy will be reduced under moisture stress or from applications to mature weeds. Turfgrass color can temporarily become white during treatment. Whitening typically occurs about 7 days post-application and lasts for several weeks. A second application to the same site 2-3 weeks later will cause less whitening of plant tissue.

DO NOT apply this product on desirable Bentgrass, Poa annua, kikuyugrass, zoysiagrass, seashore paspalum, or bermudagrass.
