This means you don’t have to worry about kids and pets staying off of the yard for a period of time following a fertilizer application. Just apply, water, and play! Your lawn is safe to walk on immediately after the product is watered in.

When to Apply Pet Safe

Pet Safe 28-0-6 can be applied any time turf is actively growing. With slow-release nitrogen, this formula will feed for up to 8 weeks.

For best results, reapply every 6 to 8 weeks.

"I moved in my new house in October 2023. They installed the grass when it was dormant so when it was time to come out of dormancy, it took a long time. It just looked like it was dead all summer long. I tried fertilize it, but nothing happened. Finally as I was searching online for help with the progress, I came across The Andersons. So if the DG technology is what makes it safe does that mean that any of your products with DG technology are pet safe?: Yes, upon contact with water, the particles break down into thousands of microparticles that can enter the soil profile and root zone. DG Technology ensures 100% of the applied nutrients are delivered right where you need them, provides even and complete coverage, and eliminates risk of particle pick up from mowers or traffic.
What are the exact ingredients. I don't trust things that say safe for pets: Please refer to the label for the full list of ingredients (available on our website). Pet Safe 24-0-6 is safe for pets in the sense that as soon as the particles are in contact with water after application, they disperse into microparticles to easily reach the root zone, and you are not left with large fertilizer particles sitting on your lawn. This is our patented Dispersible Granule (DG) Technology.
