PRO TIPS

Plant in springtime after the last frost or in the fall 30 days before the first frost
The ideal soil temperature for planting cool-season grasses is between 55 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit
Seed-to-soil contact is required for proper seed germination
Plant in an area that can be maintained with moisture

PLANTING A NEW LAWN

Loosen the soil to a depth of 3 to 4 inches
Rake and smooth; remove rocks and debris
Spread seed evenly. Use the “Spreader Settings” chart to determine the amount of seed needed to cover the area.
Lightly rake or rollover area to cover seed with roughly 1/8 inch of soil

OVERSEEDING AN EXISTING LAWN

Mow grass on your mower’s lowest setting.
Remove all excess vegetation and scratch the soil to 1/2 inch depth.
Spread seed evenly. Use the “Spreader Settings” chart to determine the amount of seed needed to cover the area.

Aftercare Tips

WATERING

Moisten soil to a depth of around 1 inch. For best results, keep the root zone moist by watering your new lawn 2 to 3 times daily (rainfall depending). Avoid creating puddles.
Keep soil moist until the new lawn has fully germinated, typically 3 to 4 weeks
Lack of proper watering is the most common reason lawn fail to establish!

MOWING

Do not mow your new lawn for the first time until the blades reach 3 inches tall
Remove no more than 1/3 of the blade
Height of cut should be 2-2.5 inches

In cool-season locations, the ideal time to seed is in September-October when air temperatures are still staying above 55 degrees. You may also seed in the spring when soil and air temperatures stay consistently above 55 degrees - typically late-April.

I applied September 21st so I don't really see results yet (Oct. 4th). The seed rarely has the stated coverage but I have enough faith that I plan on buying more for the front yard. I have 2600 square feet total. I do see smallareas I will need to apply more seed.

So far, this looks to be a great product!

"I live in Bountiful, Utah at approx. 4500 feet (high desert). My "Stadium Mix" has been in for 2 weeks now. The temperatures were cooler the first week. Last week the temps were in the 80s. This week we should be in the 90s. I have set the sprinklers to water for 6 minutes on the hour during the heat of the day. The grass germinated at about No 8. As of day no 14 the grass is about 1/2" - 3/4' tall and is starting to fill in nicely. What sold me on this product as that it contains 0. 00% weed seed, it is coated with Watergard NP which is blue in color an made it easy to see where the seed was spread. I am hoping to to train my 3 year-old grandson in the finer methods of pitching and hitting baseballs"
