What Makes It Pro-Grade?

Small Particle Size

DGL features an extremely small particle size. This means you get more complete and uniform coverage, which boosts the product’s effectiveness.

How to Apply DGL

DGL is safe to use in spring, summer, and fall—but it's especially helpful in the spring and fall or right before a big event, thanks to its quick-release nitrogen that gives your lawn an instant boost.
It keeps feeding your turf for up to 6 weeks, and you can reapply every 4 to 6 weeks to keep your lawn looking its best.
Don't apply to stressed turf and don't overapply—doing so can lead to turf burn.
Be sure to water it in thoroughly, especially for tight, dense turf.

Pro Tips for Best Results

Check The Forecast

Avoid applying before heavy rainfall so particles don't get washed away.

Mow First

Clear any lawn debris and make it easier for particles to reach the soil.

Clean Up

Sweep or blow product off the driveways/sidewalks back into the lawn.

Water Deep

Your lawn will need at least 0.2 inches of water.

Spreader Settings

We recommend using a broadcast spreader. These spreader settings are a guide. Many variables such as walking speed, terrain, particle size, density, and spreader condition can affect these settings. Be sure to calibrate your spreader before every application.

I put this product down

"I put this product down two weeks ago to supplement my PGF complete and between the two of these my lawn is ridiculously thick and green. I can’t wait for next spring. I’m already putting together my order. This is my first year using Anderson products and I will never use any other products all the ones that I’ve tried, including the soil supplements. "I purchased this product because my Bermuda grass needed a jolt of nitrogen. Within a 7-10 day span, I saw results. The grass turned to a rich green color and it received a growth spurt, thickening my lawn. Don't know how often this product can be applied, especially as I'm entering really hot July/August weather. I highly recommend this product."

Q&A

I’m seeing a lot of people discussing “spoon feeding” at a “light rate”. What is the light rate for DGL and how often do you apply it? The bag only gives one rate. Doc is talking a light coat almost weekly but never says what the light rate is: "Spoon-feeding" is a method of applying fertilizer to your lawn in small, frequent doses rather than all at once. To use this method with The Andersons DGL, you take the standard monthly application rate of 3.6 pounds per 1,000 square feet and break it down by your preferred schedule. If you choose to fertilize your lawn biweekly, you will cut that standard rate in half and apply 1.8 pounds per 1,000 square feet every two weeks. If you prefer to fertilize your lawn weekly, you will divide the rate even further and apply 0.9 pounds per 1,000 square feet every single week.
Can you clarify the rationale for removing iron from The Andersons DGL formulation? What drove that change, and how does it impact performance? Specifically, does the product still deliver the same level of deep green color, or is its current role primarily focused on supporting growth through nitrogen rather than color enhancement?: The decision to remove the iron from the DGL product was due to occasional occurrences of the iron oxidizing in the bag. Also, customers with tight, low-cut turf that weren't getting enough water were experiencing staining on the grass blades. While it didn't damage the turf and eventually went away, we were receiving enough complaints which ultimately played into the decision to remove it from the formula.
How soon after mowing can you apply?: You may apply DGL as soon as you are done mowing.
have a yard approx 12,000sf. How come there aren't larger bags available?: 1 Bag of DGL covers up to 5,000 sqft.. For a 12,000 sqft. lawn, you will need approx. 2.5 bags of DGL.
How often should this product be used?: DGL may be applied every 4-6 weeks during the growing season. We recommend doing a soil test prior to applying this product as it is high in nitrogen and iron.
