Apply with the Program

Apply Alone

Grass Guard DG 9-0-0 can be applied as an all-natural pre-emergent and fertilizer application in your existing lawn care regimen. It should be applied in the early spring or fall before weeds germinate. Apply up to 4 times per year for best results.

When to Apply

Apply first in early spring before weeds germinate and again in fall, both at the high preventative rates. Weed control is related to the application rate and weather conditions. Any weeds present at application will not be controlled. Apply to dry turf using a broadcast spreader at suggested rates below and water-in with a at least 0.2 inches of water within 1-2 days.

For best results, apply up to 4 times per year at the high rate.
DO NOT USE AT SEEDING. After seeding, wait 45 days to apply Grass Guard DG. Do not apply for 60-90 days before seeding (rate dependent).

Avoid applying before heavy rainfall so particles don't get washed away.

Mow First

Clear any lawn debris and make it easier for particles to reach the soil.

Clean Up

Sweep or blow product off the driveways/sidewalks back into the lawn.

Water Deep

Your lawn will need at least 0.2 inches of water.

Don't Bag It

Leave lawn clippings for at least one mowing to avoid particle pick-up.

We recommend using a broadcast spreader. These spreader settings are a guide. Many variables such as walking speed, terrain, particle size, density, and spreader condition can affect these settings. Be sure to calibrate your spreader before every application.

"I was very anxious to use this product as my daughter has a dog that is outside quite a bit. I applied this to her lawn when her dog was inside the home. I had no hesitation in letting him out after the application. Following the directions in my Broadcast spreader set at 5(you double the application) for the heavy setting, I won’t know the results for a few weeks. There is some fertilizer in the mixture so you will not have to add a light coating. I’ll let you know the results in 4 weeks on the lawn and any weeds."
