Why the Pros Love It

DG Technology

Made with the Andersons patented DG (dispersible granule) Technology, NutraSoft OP Gypsum is more effective and faster acting than traditional gypsum products. DG Technology allows each NutraSoft granule to quickly and completely disperse after coming into contact with water from rain or irrigation, allowing the product to reach its intended destination – the root zone.

How to Use NutraSoft

Applying NutraSoft

Hard-packed soils can prohibit healthy root systems and reduce the penetration and retention of water. Applying NutraSoft OP Gypsum with calcium and sulfur quickly and effectively loosens soil and can even help lower high alkaline levels, creating healthy soil turf and gardens can thrive in. NutraSoft OP Gypsum can be applied any time during the growing season and will not cause any burning.

 • Maintenance on Established Lawns: Repeat 1-2 times per year (spring/fall), at a rate of 6-12 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft.

Applied and waiting for results.

"Applied and waiting for results. However, should be fine. Anderson products are always reliable. Used product in the past with great satisfaction."

NutraSoft OP® Gypsum

"Ordering was easy, price was good, free shipping was appreciated, instructions were a great help, and the product is on the lawn doing its job. I will check the soil in the spring to see if there is a change in compactness and hardness. Will definitely order from The Andersons again."

Gary B. (5/5)

Exactly what the Doctor Ordered

"Nutra Soft OP® Gypsum is exactly what the Doctor ordered. I live in a new subdivision and the builder stripped most of the topsoil off, I have a heavy hard-packed clay soil, and this has been quite effective in loosening the clay. I mix it with my other Andersons fertilizer and its been a good commination. Of course, the free shipping and quick delivery is an added plus."

Smittee (5/5)

Great product

"Really helps take care of dog‘s pee spots in lawn"

Tough soil

"After much research I’ve learned that my soil is clay soil which is compacted and apparently this soil makes it difficult to have a nice looking lawn. From what I’ve read Gypsum helps to break up and soften the soil. It’ll take some time to see results but considering I’ve been satisfied with all other Anderson products so I expect the same results with this."

Jarvis N. (5/5)

Moss fighter

"I have a lot of trees and clay soil. The neutra soft handles both and helps with using 10-10-10 fertilizer. Gets my ph down. Would recommend for maintaining a healthy lawn!"

Steve M. (5/5)

Soil amendment

"I have used lime for years but I thought I would try Anderson’s albeit much more expensive than others,,it’s worth every penny. It doesn’t burn the grass and dissolves easily into the soil. Great product!!!!"

Paul A. (5/5)

Op Gypsum

"I have very compacted clay soil,OP soft gypsum is easy to spread, I’ll need to add a second application, water didn’t seem to puddle."

Cynthia H. (5/5)

Helping to alleviate compact clay soil!

"Easy spreader application, nominal dust (still suggest wearing a mask), and is really helping amend the clay soil in my yard. I still have several heavily compacted areas of soil that I'll retreat in a few weeks. Highly recommend."

Q&A

Can I or should I use this with Humichar, or do they both do the same thing?
These products are different and you may use them together. For more information, check out the blog "Choosing the Best Soil Amendment" in the "Learn" section of our website.
Bag says 40lbs and covers 6,600 sq. ft....however on the back it says apply 25-40 lbs per 1k sq.ft. Additionally the spreader setting document has the lowest setting at 10lb per 1k sq. ft....it would be impossible for this 40lb bag to cover 6.6k sq. ft. if following the instructions. Please clarify.
Per directions on the product's label, maintenance applications should be repeated 1-2 times per year (spring/fall), at a rate of 6-12 lbs. of the product per 1,000 square feet to maintain proper soil conditions. 1 bag of NutraSoft covers up to 6,600 sqft. when applied at the lowest recommended application rate of 6 lbs./1,000 sqft. for maintenance.
I have app. 10,000 sq. ft. of lawn, for a light rate, looks like I'll need 3 bags for a Scott's spreader.Do you reccomend putting all 3 bags down in the fall or would it be better to do it every other month? Thank You
We recommend putting down all three bags down at once in the fall.
What is the SGN size of this product?
NutraSoft has a SGN of 215.
Hi, I have an 5000sq ft established lawn, with heavy clay soil. The suggested application rate is 83-130lb per 1000sq ft. The bag size appears to be 40lb. Am I correct in understanding that I would need to order 10-15 bags? If so, do I apply all of that at once? Thanks
For corrective action on heavy clay soil, apply 80-130 lbs. of NutraSoft per 1,000 square feet. It is recommended to take corrective action in the spring and fall, and split this application recommendation among these 2 applications. For a 5,000 sqft. lawn, at this recommended application rate, you'd need about 10-15 bags of NutraSoft.
