How to Use

Initial Setup

The Pacer Pro spreader will require some assembly. See instruction manual.

During Use

Refer to individual product labels for spreader settings, which differ by product.

Start by making a pass around the perimeter of your yard. Then work back and forth, down and back until the area has been covered completely, slightly overlapping the swath. Always clean out the spreader after use.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Pacer Pro spreads about 7 feet wide.

Yes, there is a slider just beneath the hopper that allows you to close two of the holes. This allows you to prevent spreading product to the left when the hole is closed, similarly to how a side deflector operates.

There are Pacer Pro settings for each of our products on the spreader settings charts on our website. Spreader settings charts can be found under "Documents" on each product page.

Spreader settings can also be found using our Spreader Settings Tool (click here).

Horrible Assembly

"The cotter pins used to secure the tires are a horrible design decision. They are on the spinning axle, so it's difficult to stop rotation while also trying to manually bend the thick metal pin. This is made significantly worse by the fact that they sent pins that are way too short (see photo). They sent around 2. 25" but I think at least 3" would be needed to make the assembly smoother. Making it impossible to get any good leverage, even if it wasn't on a rotating axle. This design also makes it difficult (maybe even impossible) if you ever wanted to disassemble the unit. There had to be a better way to affix the tire to the axle. There are two other reviews giving this same feedback from almost a year ago, but they were generous and still gave 4 stars. Clearly the company has not addressed this issue. I hope the company will take this more seriously if I give it only 1 star. This product is expensive, and I expected more care to be given to the design and assembly experience. Surely there was assembly testing and I doubt this issue isn't already known to the team."

Nice Upgrade

"I am upgrading from a Scott’s spreader. It rolls so much better on my 20,000 square foot bumpy lawn. So far I have overseeded and it spreads beautifully. I am looking forward to spreading fertilizer and other soil amendments in the season"

Parts are missing from inside

"Parts are missing from inside the hopper. Have tried for almost a week to get help from customer support, but with no response except an e-mail that asked if I had watched the assembly video. I have tried chat, e-mail and left phone messages, but have not received any response. I have never been ignored before by customer service at any other company. One star is too high a rating for this product and this company. My advice to you is to purchase a spreader from another company. Definity do not waste your money buying this product from this company."

CLAUDE S. (1/5)

"It makes a squeaking sound after first use. But excellent throw pattern"

Skip the big box store and order this spreader

"Easy to assemble and quite honestly the best spreader I have owned. I have had numbers name brand spreaders from big box stores and the plastic wheels and mechanisms just don’t hold up. This is a solid spreader with rubber air filled tires and a great agitating mechanism. Works great."

Rodney N. (5/5)

Exactly as described!

"Ordered the Pacer Pro spreader. I'm completely satisfied & pleased how easy it was to assemble. I definitely would recommend. 😊"

Brad K. (5/5)

Very nice. Works well. Used

"Very nice. Works well. Used it yesterday to spread grass seed."

Keith I. (5/5)

Great Spreader

"Great spreader well engineered and built. I like the assembly video and service video. The cotter pins need to be longer."

Derek G. (4/5)

Nice unit, but needs longer cotter pins.

"Delivery was outstanding and the build quality is top-notch. The over-sized wheels are great, and the agitator mechanism works well. The cotter pins for attaching the tires are too short, making it frustrating to assemble."

Q&A

How do you operate the summer/fertilizer base plate for different scenarios of use?
One material plate is for fertilizer and seed, the other is for winter salt.
I see other Anderson spreaders on your website listed under "Spreader Settings" specifically the Andersons L-1000 and the Anderson Yard Star 2150. Does the Pacer Pro use the same settings as these two? Do you still sell these other two models?
No, the Pacer Pro has its own unique settings. The LCO-1000 and Yard Star are not available on our website.
is there an edge guard controller so you can avoid driveways, walkways?
Yes, there is a control under the hopper that allows you to close of the holes to prevent spreading on one side.
The description states 'winter material', so it can be used for winter salt application? Is there a downside to doing that and not just using it for lawn applications?
No, as long as you are cleaning out the hopper after use. We also recommend switching out the material plates that comes with the spreader for salt and fertilizer.
Does this spreader have the ability to throw hopper contents to one side only? Such as when bordering a sidewalk or other area where hopper contents are not to be applied to the perimeter of an area on one side only the other side.
Yes, there is a slider component under the hopper that allows you to close one of the holes. This allows product to be only spread from the right side of the spreader.
