Professional-Grade Weed & Feed

Broadleaf Weed with Weed and Feed

Four-Way Herbicide

Surge contains 4 active ingredients that help it target tougher weeds like clover and achieve superior performance in cooler weather.

Small Particle Size

Surge features an extremely small particle size. This means you get more complete and uniform coverage, which boosts the product’s effectiveness.

When to Apply Surge

For the best results, apply Surge® in the spring or fall.
However, you can use it anytime you notice broadleaf weeds actively growing in your lawn.

Established Lawns

PREP YOUR LAWN

Mow your lawn 1-2 days before applying the product. Make sure your grass is hydrated by giving it a good watering (about half an inch) one or two days before. This is especially important if you’re in a dry spell. Your lawn must be actively growing for the weed and feed to work.

APPLY TO A WET LAWN

Spread Surge Weed and Feed in the morning when your lawn is damp with dew, or water lightly beforehand. The moisture helps the granules stick to the weeds’ leaves, which is where the product needs to be.

KEEP THE LAWN DRY AFTER APPLICATION

Keep an eye on the weather and hold off on watering for at least 24 hours after applying. Rain or running sprinklers too soon will wash away the product, reducing its effectiveness.

New Lawns

COOL-SEASON GRASS

Wait until your newly planted grass has been mowed at least three times or has developed strong roots before applying.

WARM-SEASON GRASS

Wait 3-4 weeks after laying sod, sprigs, or plugs. Use a lower application rate (half the amount recommended for established lawns).

What to Expect

You’ll start noticing weeds turning white or brown within 5-7 days of application. Complete die-off may take up to 21 days. For lawns with a lot of weeds or stubborn types, a follow-up application might be needed in 30 day intervals.

Spreader Settings

We recommend using a broadcast spreader. These spreader settings are a guide. Many variables such as walking speed, terrain, particle size, density, and spreader condition can affect these settings. Be sure to calibrate your spreader before every application.

Reviews

I'm not sure that it's

"I'm not sure that it's really very fair to rate it since it's only been on the lawn for 2 weeks. The grass is greening up nicely and the weeds are showing some sign of stress but the clover and creeping charlie still seems to be rather aggressive. I'll get back when it's been given a fair amount of time to work."

This was my first order

"This was my first order and application of Andersons Surge, weed & feed (16-0-9). I had a small amount of broadleaf weeds pop up in early April and Surge, weed & feed took care of the problem. I will use this product again. Advise: Read the label for proper application. John Cason Jr (Augusta Ga. )"

I gave it a 4

"I gave it a 4 star because its a work still in progress. Love Anderson products though. I still struggle with the fact that one bag at the 5-1/2 setting in my old Scotts basic spreader covered my entire yard but with my new Edge Guard it takes just short of 2 bags. Yet they are shown as being set the same in the bag."

John H. (4/5)

Great Garden Peas!

"I have used Fertilizer with Surge for the last two applications. I purchased the big bag and that was big enough to put down two times for me. Differently staying with The Andersons products. Neighbors are starting to ask what I use."

Rich (5/5)

I love this and all

"I love this and all the Anderson’s products. Applied surge and next day weeds were already dying while grass got greener."

Gerard R. (5/5)

Rating was forced but I

Dwayne P. (3/5)

I haven’t used this product

"I haven’t used this product yet. But the pre-emergent weed killer and fertilizer, which I spread about three weeks ago is working very well. My bluegrass is growing emerald green. I have no weeds or crabgrass thus far."

Q&A

Some application burned my grass. Will it eventually come back or is there something I can do to fix it?
If you have burned your lawn, you will want to flush the area with water by heavy watering. Stop applying any fertilizers. Apply a light soil amendment for water retention.
How soon after application should you wait to mow?
Please wait at least 72 hours to mow after applying.
Is it safe for pets to go on lawn while the surge weed and feed is sitting on the lawn for 24hrs prior to watering in?
It is best to wait until after Surge is watered in and dried out before re-entering the lawn.
How many days after applying do I need to wait until I can over seed?
It is best to wait at least 30 days after applying Surge to seed.
I ordered through Amazon prematurely., without asking questions (I am an Anderson girl). Does this product killl dallas and goose grass weeds?
Surge is effective at controlling existing broadleaf weeds. Unfortunately Surge will not kill grassy type weeds that have emerged in your lawn.
